Newark, NY… We had the honor of celebrating the re-opening of Hannick Hall, our intensive residential program for women in recovery in Newark, NY. Joining CEO Lori VanAuken and Vice President Lisa Lewis to kick off our opening ceremony were Johnathan Taylor, Village of Newark Mayor, NY Senator Pamela Helming, and NY State Assemblymember Brian Manktelow, several locally owned development and construction corporate partners, and other area dignitaries and representatives from major State and County funders.

We are re-opening the site after a $5.7 Million renovation supported by the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS). With this renovation, Hannick Hall will be the only facility in Wayne County to offer an intensive residential program that can accommodate pregnant women, and women with small children.

Some key highlights include: increased capacity allowing us to serve more women, with a complete update: central a/c, more space overall, Wellness and Exercise Room, children’s play area, a Quiet Room, eye-catching stair case, and an improved ability for staff to monitor and provide client oversight throughout the residence

Catholic Charities Family and Community Services has a comprehensive approach to provide a path to self-sufficiency and treatment for people on their recovery journey. We offer integrated care under one umbrella in a variety of our settings, from outpatient to residential, and across the continuum of care, which is truly unique in our community.

Our event included a panel discussion with Catholic Charities leaders and State and Local experts on the design strategy for this residence, which provides a more trauma informed care approach and support for women in recovery. Following our ribbon cutting ceremony, attendees were able to tour the facilities alongside our staff who highlighted essential features of the care provided here.
