Rochester, NY… Catholic Family Center announced today that it is partnering with Bank of America
to provide personal protective equipment for use in its programs serving some of Rochester’s most poor and vulnerable.
This week, CFC received a second donation, which included
60,000 masks, 50 cases of hand sanitizer and 24,000 pairs of protective gloves,
that has been put to immediate use. The donation comes at a critical time as the region experiences a rising number of coronavirus cases.
The PPE donation is connected to Bank of America’s $1 billion four-year commitment to advance racial equality and
economic opportunity. So far, the bank has invested more than $100 million in local communities this year to
address challenges brought on by the coronavirus. Bank of America has been working with local partners like
Catholic Family Center to provide resources to vulnerable populations and has already donated 15 million masks
and 58,000, 8-ounce bottles of hand sanitizer to underserved communities, including communities of color, across
the country.
