Rochester, NY –   Catholic Charities Family and Community Services (CCFCS) is pleased to announce President and CEO Lori VanAuken will be inducted into the Circle of Excellence at the Rochester Business Journal’s 2024 Women of Excellence Awards Ceremony this evening, May 14, 2024. The Circle of Excellence honors prior Women of Excellence honorees who demonstrate longstanding, notable success in the community and who are leading the way for other women.

VanAuken has 35 years of leadership, policy, advocacy, and fundraising experience in the non-profit sector. In March 2013, she became the Executive Director of Catholic Charities Community Services (CCCS), which served people with developmental disabilities, individuals with traumatic brain injuries and those living with chronic illness such as HIV/AIDS.  In 2022, she assumed the role of President and CEO of Catholic Charities Family and Community Services when CCCS merged with Catholic Family Center. With 1000 employees and 80 programs and an annual operating budget of more than $60M, CCFCS is the one of the largest human service agencies in the region.

“The Circle of Excellence Award is particularly meaningful to me because I share this recognition with the senior leadership at CCFCS, most of whom are women,” says VanAuken. “They are the future of our organization and our communities, and they are truly inspirational leaders.”

VanAuken was named an RBJ Women of Excellence honoree in 2022.  She joins six other high-achieving women leaders to be inducted into the Circle of Excellence this year. The 2024 RBJ Women of Excellence awards program will take place today (Tuesday, May 14) at 6pm at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center, 123 East Main Street in Rochester.
