(Oct. 2, 2024) Rochester, NY – Residents of Rochester’s newest affordable housing complex for seniors will soon be provided with the services they need to safely age in place, thanks to a partnership with Rochester’s Cornerstone Group and Catholic Charities Family and Community Services (CCFCS). Marketplace Senior Apartments in Henrietta features 150 apartments, with 45 apartments reserved for residents who need supportive services to live independently. CCFCS will provide case management, transportation, emergency financial assistance, on-site support groups and wellness workshops, as well as linkage to other services.
“CCFCS is proud to partner with Rochester’s Cornerstone Group and Genesis Housing Development Corporation on this project,” says Lisa Lewis, CCFCS Chief Program Officer. “As they work to meet the demand for affordable senior housing, our agency stands ready to deliver supportive services that help older residents succeed and thrive at home.”
Funding for on-site services at Marketplace Senior Apartments was made possible with the help of a grant from the NYS Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative. CCFCS will provide these services to tenants age 55+ who meet eligibility requirements.
Marketplace Senior Apartments are located on the campus of the former Marketplace Mall. The development features 150 income-restricted apartments, with rent capping out at 60 percent of the area’s median income. The facility includes community space, a fitness center, and laundry facilities. 15 units are reserved for tenants with mobility issues, and 6 units for tenants who have hearing and vision disabilities.
The grand opening for Marketplace Senior Apartments is October 2, 2024, with a ribbon cutting scheduled for 11:00 am.
