Rochester, NY – On August 22, Catholic Charities Family and Community Services (CCFCS) will hold a graduation ceremony for 11 students in our YouthBuild program. Over the past five months, these young men and women have received construction job-training at our YouthBuild worksite in Rochester, and thanks to a partnership with Flower City Habitat for Humanity, hands-on training building affordable housing in the local community. During the graduation ceremony, students will receive certification from the National Center for Construction Education and Research, along with new tool kits, work boots and clothing.
The YouthBuild Graduation takes place Thursday, August 22 from 1:00-3:00pm, with the ceremony starting promptly at 1:30pm, at the Wegmans Lodge at Seneca Park on Zoo Rd. in Rochester.
YouthBuild is a national career and technical program run in Rochester by CCFCS. We offer youth ages 18 to 24 hands-on construction training, leadership development, and job placement. Since 2018, 171 young people have graduated from YouthBuild with certification in the construction trades, including the 11 students in the current class shown in this release.
