Nicole’s Story: Building Independence and Belonging
Nicole has been raised by her grandparents since infancy. Like many families, they worried about what her future might look like.
Nicole with her grandparentsSince 2024, Nicole has participated in CCFCS’s Employment Training Program (ETP) and Supported Employment (SEMP). Through these programs, she has gained job skills, built confidence, and grown in independence.
Today, Nicole volunteers throughout the community, including at a local gift shop and an animal sanctuary. She builds meaningful relationships and is working toward her goal of employment, hoping to one day support older adults.
At home, Nicole takes initiative and helps care for her grandparents, something that brings her pride and purpose.
Nicole’s journey shows what’s possible with the right support.
But many individuals and families in our community are still waiting for that same opportunity.
