Steps to Success Rochester is an economic mobility mentoring program built around a long-term partnership. It helps you build long-term goals around family, health, money, school, and career, while tackling the obstacles that get in your way.

Life can feel complicated. Balancing work, parenting, bills, appointments, and long-term goals isn't easy. Many families are already working hard, but the systems and strategies meant to help can be hard to navigate.

Steps to Success Rochester was designed to make things easier and help participants get the support they need to achieve their goals. It's a boost forward, not another hurdle to jump.

We partner with eligible City of Rochester residents who want support working toward their goals and building long-term stability.

Steps to Success Rochester is funded by New York State and supported through a coordinated partnership among Monroe County, the City of Rochester, Action for a Better Community, Catholic Charities Family and Community Services, and the Urban League of Rochester.

We don't tell you what to do. You choose your goals. Your coach works alongside you to:

• Listen without judgment
• Help you set goals and build skills
• Coordinate support across programs
• Stick with you throughout the journey

This is not a one-time service. It's ongoing support for up to two years, designed to help you move forward over time.

Education. Employment. Financial stability. Personal growth. Your goals guide the process.

2. You meet regularly with your mentor.
Together, you build a plan and adjust it as needed.

3. You earn milestone-based rewards.
Financial incentives recognize the real progress you make. These are tied to specific milestones, not guarantees.

4. Support is coordinated.
We help align education, workforce, benefits, and financial systems so you're not navigating them alone.

Steps to Success supports key areas of your life, based on your goals and your family's needs.

• Are part of a household with a child under 18
• Are serious about working toward your personal and financial goals

No. Steps to Success is designed as a longer-term partnership that adapts as your goals evolve.

Do I have to meet certain requirements to receive incentives?
Incentives are milestone-based and tied to progress toward agreed-upon goals. They are not automatic or guaranteed.

What if I'm already working with another agency?
Steps to Success works alongside existing services to coordinate support.
